RARE 18thC Antique Pennsylvania Peafowl Iron Oil Lamp

⭕ Every once in a while I get to list something of importance.Tonight I am listing a very rare and important,Pennsylvania Wrought Iron Peafowl Fluid Lamp from the early 18th century.Constructed from hand wrought iron this lamp was original found at a York,Pennsylvania antique show in the early 1970s. The owner has had it all these years and did research this lamp.He found that there are two similar iron lights in the collection of the Pratt Mansion in Maryland. These early Pennsylvania lights are pictured in John Groves book,Antique Candlesticks 1450-1750.The owner also brought this early lamp to Donald Fennimore,Curator Emeritus of Metals at the Winterthur Museum, and he declared it to be of American origin. That said, this rare 18th century Peafowl Lamp is guaranteed for life to be authentic early oil lamp was hand wrought in Pennsylvania during the early 18th century. The peafowl alone measures 7 long by 2 3/8 wide, across the back by 5 from the bottom of the feet to the wick holder at the top of the head.Including the three legged base the overall height is 10 7/8.18th century American Iron Whale Oil Lamps of this quality rarely come up for sale and the quality and condition of this example is exceptional.I was going to put a very modest reserve, just to give this lamp some respect, but instead it is listed without any reserve at all and you tell me what you think its worth.
