⭕ Gibsons venerated Bella Voce model tenor banjo.Manufactured in 1927 (SN 0121-XX),this banjo retains all of its original parts,plating and finish and is in incredible condition considering its age and comparable examples typically offered for sale.Cataloged as white holly this banjo is actually made of maple which is painted in a cream color to resemble white holly wood.While there is finish checking with very minor flaking on the back of the neck near the heel carving,there is absolutely no wear through on the paint which is typically seen in this model.All the hardware (including the desirable no hole archtop tone ring and style 6 engraving on the armrest) is original and the original gold plating is fantastic (with only minor wear visible on the armrest).All the original carving and painting are completely intact with no wear whatsoever. There may have been a light overspray done at some time but,if so,it is very difficult to see and/or differentiate from an original finish.All the markings any Gibson collector hope to see on the inside of the banjo,including the penciled serial number on inside resonator back in the proper 1920s Gibson workmans hand are there.So fine is the condition of this instrument that it was featured in Walter Carters book which celebrated Gibsons centennial.The original hardshell case-also in wonderful condition-is included.This banjo is accurately described but,because it is a vintage item,is being sold as is with a return privilege being granted only if the instrument is delivered in other than described condition.
