Somnia is located approximately 30 minutes drive from Grantley Adams International Airport, and situated within the World Heritage conservation area of Navy Gardens, Hastings. It is just minutes away from the popular, bustling tourist areas of Hastings and Worthing, which offer some of the most beautiful beaches on Barbadoss lively south coast, such as Accra beach and the south coast boardwalk.
Somnia is situated in a quiet residential area at the end of a cul-de-sac, but with easy access to the local amenities youll need: supermarkets, wine merchants, boutiques, take-aways and restaurants, taxis, buses, banking and duty free shopping.
Youll love Somnias modern, bright, décor, accented with splashes of bold tropical colour and sea-themes throughout. This is a sunny, airy home, designed to be fun, creative, and relaxed, oozing with character!
Somnia is a self-catering holiday rental, fully equipped with everything to make your holiday as stress free and comfortable as possible. Both bedrooms are fitted with ceiling fans as well as solar powered air conditioning units for the hotter summer days. A tranquil, tastefully furnished master bedroom with queen bed and plenty of storage space, bedside tables, reading lamps adjoins a large en-suite tiled wet room, with WC, shower and double vanity unit.
The second bedroom offers either a twin bed or double bed arrangement as required, with mosquito canopy, bedside tables with reading lamps. Duvets/comforters are provided for cooler nights. A second good sized shower room with w.c. and vanity unit adjoins.
All rooms offer great views onto the garden filled with palm, coconut and banana trees, a passion fruit vine (beloved by monkeys), and other tropical plants. From the front of the house, the windows offer views over the beautiful Caribbean Sea ( the sunset views from these windows are just stunning), as well as onto the little village of St. Matthias with church, situated just below Somnia.
We know youre here on holiday and may not want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. But for those who want to try their hands at Bajan cuisine, our kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, six burner gas hob and oven, coffee machine, toaster, juicer, food processor, rice cooker, crockery and an array of utensils.
You will enjoy relaxing on our lovely sun-shaded open deck, furnished with a variety of loungers, easy chairs and a dining table - its a great place to linger over a lazy breakfast while planning your days activities, or, in the evening, switch on the outdoor fairy lights, kick back with a cold beer or rum punch while enjoying the free nightly orchestra of crickets and whistling tree frogs. Bliss unlimited!
The spacious, comfortably furnished open plan lounge and dining area has a large dining table that can comfortably seat six people. For when you want to create a special ambience, guests will find a full dinner service, flatware, table linen, and everything needed in the large white wicker unit next to the breakfast bar in the dining area.
In the living area, there is a wide selection of entertainment: cable television, music centre, a small selection of board games, dominoes and books.
Other items we provide: Towels (bath, face, hand). Hairdryer. Picnic basket. Cool bags. Beach towels. Picnic ware. Christmas tree with decorations for guests staying during the festive season
We promote child friendly accommodation. All windows are fitted with safety grilles. A travel cot and high chair, booster seat, play-mat, and travel bath are available for the use of younger visitors.
