A Van Ingen Taxidermy Tiger Skin Rug Circa 1930

⭕ A Van Ingen taxidermy Tiger Skin rug

This superb Van Ingen tiger skin rug with head mount is in great original condition having a good colour and a menacing snarl by one of the best taxidermy firms in the world.

It retains all of its claws and teeth and has only little wear to either the backing or pelt. Van Ingen & Van Ingen Mysore is stencilled onto the canvas backing as is the serial number 17318 . I am told that it dates from Circa 1930.

While being in generally fine order there are some small areas of wear and defects, the main being the loss of around 20mm from the tip of the right hand ear, cleanly chewed off, some chipping on two of the large teeth, one upper and lesser to a lower tooth. There is also a small 20mm long clean cut to the pelt and some minor wear to the canvas backing on the front paws but nothing serious.

Below are some of its Dimensions
•Tip of nose to tail: 2800mm (9.2)
•Paw to Paw (width) front: 2060mm (81)
•Muzzle (width): 150mm (6)
•Head (width) : 300mm (12)
•Head length (neck to nose):440mm (17 1/4)
